Per la prima volta una nave ultra lusso si sottopone a un intervento di ammodernamento
Trieste, 13 marzo 2018 – Hanno preso avvio nei giorni scorsi, presso lo stabilimento Fincantieri di Palermo, i lavori di allungamento di Silver Spirit, nave da crociera ultra lusso del gruppo Silversea, con l’inserimento di un troncone della lunghezza di circa 15 metri nella parte centrale della nave.

Silver Spirit, consegnata da Fincantieri ad Ancona nel 2009 con una stazza lorda di 36.000 tonnellate e una lunghezza di 195 metri, ospitava gli oltre 540 passeggeri in 270 suite, tutte con vista sul mare distribuite sugli 8 ponti passeggeri. Per incontrare il gusto di un pubblico particolarmente esigente come quello europeo, la nave è stata costruita prestando moltissima attenzione alla cura del dettaglio ed alla scelta dei materiali per l’allestimento interno. Il design è stato curato dal rinomato architetto italiano Giacomo Mortola, che ha saputo coniugare una combinazione perfetta tra funzionalità contemporanea e Art Decò.

Il progetto di allungamento e trasformazione, primo di tale portata per una nave da crociera del settore ultra lusso, è stato sviluppato e gestito dalla divisione Ship Repair & Conversion di Fincantieri. I lavori termineranno all’inizio di maggio e, per migliorare ulteriormente l’esperienza per gli ospiti di Silversea, i principali spazi pubblici saranno ampliati e aumenterà anche il numero di suite e di ospiti a bordo. Il progetto di rinnovamento si è ispirato alla nave ammiraglia della flotta, Silver Muse, consegnata da Fincantieri nell’aprile dello scorso anno.

SILVER SPIRIT RENEWED IN PALERMO
For the first time a ultra-luxury ship undergoes modernization activities
Trieste, March 13, 2018 – Lengthening works on Silver Spirit, ultra-luxury cruise ship of the Silversea Group, began at Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo in the last days, with a 15-meter section inserted in the central part of the ship.
Silver Spirit, delivered in 2009 by Fincantieri in Ancona with a gross tonnage of 36,000 tons and a length of 195 meters, was able to accommodate over 540 passengers in 270 sea view suites, spread over 8 passenger decks. To meet the taste of a very demanding public such as the European one, the vessel has been built with great attention and care to details and the choice of materials for the interior arrangement. The project was designed by the famous Italian architect Giacomo Mortola, who was able to combine a perfect mix of contemporary functionality and Art Deco.
The lengthening and refurbishment project, first of the kind on an ultra-luxury cruise ship, has been developed and carried out by Fincantieri’s Ship Repair and Conversion division. Works will end at the beginning of May and, to further amplify the experience of Silverseas guests, the main public areas will be extended as well as the number of suites and guests on board will also increase. The renewal project took inspiration from the flagship of the fleet, Silver Muse, delivered by Fincantieri last year in April.
